Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in Florida's newly licensed direct-entry midwifery program. I am proud to offer the Three-year Program for non-nurse or direct-entry midwives and the Four Month Pre-licensure Program for foreign-trained midwives.

Both programs will lead to a Diploma in Midwifery and, after passing the NARM (North American Registry of Midwives) exam, an opportunity to become a Florida Licensed Midwife (LM) affording practice in Florida under Chapter 467 FS and the ability to provide prenatal, labor and delivery and postpartum services for Florida families. Candidates may also apply for the nationally accredited credential Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) after passing the NARM.

Tuition for the Three-year Program is $19,320 and $5,250 for the Four Month Program, we do not have any provision for student financial aid at this time. Tuition for the Clinical Externship program for students enrolled in other midwifery programs is $10.65 per clock hour with a minimum 120 hours per session. We will be seeking accreditation through the Midwifery Education and Accreditiation Council (MEAC). Our next Orientation has been deferred (see below). Please email ccsmidwifery@gmail.com for more details or to be placed on our list.

Thank you!

Jennie Joseph LM, CPM
Executive Director

Orientaion

Our next orientation for midwifery school has been deferred.

Jennie Joseph explains in a letter dated May16, 2011 -

Thank you so much for your patience while awaiting the announcement of the next orientation for our Three Year Midwifery Program. I am sure you are aware of the multitude of activities that are occuring in and around The Birth Place birthing center, the Easy Access Clinic and The JJ Way as well as the various training programs at the School. I am committed to providing quality programs in all the areas that we offer, and it is for that reason that I have decided to delay the next midwifery class. I am clear that I must be responsible, not only with your money, but with your time and personal sacrifice for this very demanding profession, so I am not enrolling any students again until I have a full administrative team and faculty available. In exchange I am expecting that you will be willing to prepare yourself in the best possible way for a future in midwifery. Look closely at your situation, discuss with your family the implications of midwifery school, consider if you are truly cut out for the dedication it takes. It is a very rewarding profession and one that I have thoroughly enjoyed for 30 years!

I appreciate your interest in midwifery and I am thrilled that you would like to be a part of our School. Please email ccsmidwifery@gmail.com to be added to our list. Thank you and hold on to your dream!

Jennie
